Echo JS is two years old today!

It has been a nice and busy year, and I'm glad to see the site developing further and being this active!

Here are statistics from one year ago :

- 2237 news posted (6.13 per day on average)
- 387 registered users
- 627 followers on Twitter

And the current statistics :

- 7254 news posted (9.94 per day on average)
- 1965 registered users
- 2672 followers on Twitter

We are definitely heading in the right direction, so thank you everyone for your support, and remember : *YOU* make the site!

Please keep participating by posting relevant articles, news, comments, upvoting stories, and maintaining a high signal-to-noise ratio.

Lastly, if you want to see Echo JS grow and develop further, please help us by spreading the URL around :)

You can also follow us on Twitter (@echojs) if you aren't already : http://twitter.com/echojs

Looking forward to the upcoming year!

Congrats! I love this site, all it needs isa more active community in comments sections. Just like HN. maybe you guys can do same visual changes to attract people to comment more.

Agreed, more (constructive) comments would be a nice thing, I like to think we're slowly getting there though.

I'm also thinking about tweaking the site design, yes. Still maintaining a minimalist approach, but with added focus on typography and spacing.

Great site, visit on a regular basis. Are you paying for hosting out of your own pocket, found a generous company to pay for the hosting, or have you been able to somehow monetize this in some way that I'm totally missing?

That's a good question! Indeed, I'm paying for hosting out of my own pocket, and I'm not monetizing the site. Hosting is not that expensive nowadays anyway and I'm also hosting a couple of other sites on the same server, like NodeCloud and my personal site, so it's not really an issue at the moment.

So in a way, one could say I'm trying to give back to the community :)

Try changing the body font from Courier to a sans-serif font. It's not the easiest to read in length on screens. [1]

Also, the amount of high-quality design that pours into a lot of the js community could totally help the image around here. Aware of http://dribbble.com? You can find high quality designers. I could also possibly help (I run http://fulldime.com).

I'm getting going deeper and deeper into the js world for upcoming projects, so I'm glad I'm here :)

Good job! By the way, can we get rid of the Telize advertisement at the top?
