Echo JS is behing maintained by myself, Frederic Cambus.

Our advisor is Fabien Allanic (username : fallanic).

I've been meaning to write an "about" page for some time indeed, will try to make this happen soon :) I will open an issue on Lamer News GitHub repository to discuss how to integrate this within the codebase (either a redirect to a given news, or a static page).

Agreed. I come here every day and I love it.

I wish two things were true, though:

1) it was filled with discussions (usually things don't have any comments)
2) It was entirely written in Javascript (for completeness of the universe :)

Having actual discussions would be amazing, any ideas on how to get the community more involved?

Not really. Getting a community off the ground usually takes a lot of effort.

As an example, when Reddit was starting out, each of the guys working on it (maybe they were two at the time), had lots of different usernames, and they'd basically make fake conversations all over the place.

That way there were always some people talking so it would be easier for people to join in on the discussion.

I suspect the first step would be for us to just try to break the ice and start having conversations on here.

I at least think the "replies" section is a good add on - I hadn't noticed it until recently.

Try to comment on stories whenever you can. When the community gets bigger, it'll be important to only write quality comments to keep a high signal-to-noise ratio but at this point, quantity trumps quality IMO.

Agreed. This is the a great resource to find what's fresh in JS.

It's been a great resource since I found it, pretty much a daily read now. Thanks!
