It's very easy to make these types of mistakes… easy to be less critical of results that support our desired outcome. That's confirmation bias and it's a common & very human fault.

High levels of maturity & strength are prerequisite for admitting you're wrong in public, these are admirable qualities. 

In my eyes, this post gives them more credibility and shows them to be some decent folks.

But why would you want to wrap a fundamentally synchronous action in a promise? For mocking an API? I don't understand.
