There's _no_ merit sticking with React/Redux if you have a problem with how Redux works.
Frankly, it's easy to replace Redux with your own higher order component functionality - and you don't need Redux to do hot loading.
You could say that about a lot of things. ReactJS (which I love), is a also a concept and a library. BaconJS is arguably a lot more reactive than ReactJS, and so is RXJS, but does that cause confusion? Furthermore, it's just a name and a pet project. Anyone's free to create their own project with same name under their own github account.
