I upvoted this because I agree with post.
I don't think he was eloquent enough in his rant or made his points clearly. But I do agree with his sentiment.
It's fine that you think CS gives some "new points of view". I just don't see it and personally it annoys the hell out of me when people post/commit CoffeeScript code instead of JavaScript.
(ps - I've been using coffeeyesplease nick since 1999 :-)

I've actually never heard someone making such claim(that JavasScript is basically Scheme) but then again, I don't know that much of Scheme to assess if it's true or.

I personally thing its a very good thing. None of my websites would work without JavaScript and it would be just 2 costly for my clients to work on fallback versions.
This site claims that less 2% have JavaScript turned off in the US.
